Tbf in the grand scheme of things fictional rape is way less severe than setting and creating a story around the enslavement of real Africans and Caribbeans -in which they were subjugated to real life beatings, rape, murder, their skin used in furniture and their teeth used as jewellery etc- and attempting to romanticise it.
