I agree with what you say, but actually she already loved him. And he was only 14 so it's understandable that he had a little fit and said he didn't love her when he felt betrayed and hurt by her. they both needed those 6 years to get to be ready for each other.
It doesn't matter how long it was, realistically she would still hate him for it.
As much as I low-key don't mind rape-y smut (and enjoy it even?), I'm still not a fan of the notion where the victim falls in love with their rapist... It's sick, actually. It was good to see that he regretted it so much, but lying to her that he didn't love her even though it was blatantly obvious (except to her) that he did was stupid. ...maybe I just have a weakness for stories that involve musical themes? Especially the piano? *sigh*
