If her mom was 18 when she had Trudy...or 16...it could be ok. Men can father children longer than women can have them. My grandparents had 13 children. My grandpa is in his 70s. Their youngest is 4 years older than me. it CAN happen.
you know, what you said is interesting and right, in old times people married younger and they have 9, 11, 14, children, in those times were common and normal; in actual time is not very common but still happen especialy in culturas of Asian, I know a mexican couple that had 15 children, even there is a famous queen called "granmother of europe" who had 9 children.
