I don't understand why they have to drop it just because a senior group is picking it up again? I mean, why is that group even doing that if this one is already translating it? I don't understand.
I'm don't know for sure why they're dropping it but I can make a few guesses; a) they're intimidated by this group - Fujoshi Bitches - although AFAIK, Fujoshi Bitches never verbally threatened the other group in any way or manner, but sometimes when a more well-known group claims a project, a smaller group may back off b/c they don't want any of the drama that could come from fans or even the group itself, or b) they know that FB tends to do one volume releases and they're worried Fujoshi Bitches will complete the project before them, therefore wasting any time and effort they've put into the project.
And Fujoshi Bitches has a policy of working on whatever project they decide to pick up regardless of any other scanlation group working on it. They had a huge fight with another group - SALS scans - over Scarlet Beriko's Yondaime Ooyamato Tatsuyuki and who was working on it first, so I think this policy partially stems from that fight. Again, I just want to point out that FB did not verbally intimidate this group AFAIK, I think they (the group currently working on it) just saw (or heard) about the announcement and decided to bow out.
Personally, I don't see why this group won't bother working on it anyway. FB has a long and huge backlog of manga they're planning to work on, so god knows when they'll ever get around to this one. As much as I enjoy how much FB scanlates, they're always picking up new projects while neglecting many others. Some of their older projects are approaching a year since they've seen a new release.

Yep, it's def FB. If you go through some of their posts they announced picking it up, probably didn't update their series list yet.
