Not manga related - Sorry!

alinmango November 4, 2017 10:22 pm

My cat has had a tumor for a very long time, and recently it has begun to swell and bleed. I'm very worried and I want to take her to the vet immediately, but I have no way of doing that right now. And since I'm gone 5 days out of the week, I can't rely on anyone else to do it for me.

While I'm working out ways to get her to the vet, does anyone know of affordable treatment? Even if it's only somewhat effective, I would love to know if there's anything I can do for her. There are products online that claim to treat malignant tumors but I've never bought one before, so I'm not sure if they're legit. If anyone knows anything about treating tumors, please let me know! And sorry for the random not-manga-related question. I'm a little desperate.

Omg don't you have an animal emergency service where they come home to you? and don't buy shit online, you never know what it really is and can harm your cat more than help. The longer you wait.......well you know :/

If it's begun to swell and bleed, google things that will help. Although the random parts of google aren't very reliable, you should try to find things written by professionals to see what will help. Since you're out five days a week, just go to the vet on the weekend and tell your vet what's going on and request emergency help if it's gotten bad. Try to avoid using online products on your cat as sometimes they aren't reliable and could possibly harm your cat. If you can't pay the full bill for the vet as soon as you finish checking on your cat, you can ask your vet service if you can pay in installments over a certain period of time.

Thanks for the advice everyone! Right now she's still full of energy thankfully, but I want to try nipping this problem in the throat as soon as possible. I honestly wanted to take her years ago when we first saw signs of it, but nobody would take me seriously (not much has changed tbh). I'm definitely going to be more aggressive about her treatment now, though, and if I have to pay for it out of my pocket I'll figure something else.

Right now I'm making plans to go to the nearest pet store/vet myself and see if there's any over the counter medication they can supply to keep her comfortable until something more permanent can be done to help her. Of the products that I've been looking at online, only 1 seems somewhat reputable so far. It's obviously not a permanent solution, but if it helps the swelling/bleeding stop just a bit, then I'm willing to try anything.

DO NOT buy any of those products online.
Is it a matter of transportation, taking the cat to the vet and bring her home? Have you asked a relative, friend, or even a neighbor help? I dont know where you are but have you looking into the humane society?
    Aww poor kitty

Oh! I should clarify: I'm going to try out all of my local stores first, and only then will I consider buying the product if I come up empty... which is doubtful. I always refer to over-the-counter first, no worries.

I'll try taking her to the vet as soon as I can, but it's going to be very expensive and I don't know if I can afford that at the moment. In fact I'm 100% sure that I can't, so I'm just trying to find some temporary alleviation until I can make things work. I probably won't be able to take her this weekend, either, but I don't just want to leave her high and dry while I'm gone for the week.

There is a humane society nearby and I believe they sell medicine(?) I'm not sure though, but I'll check it out before I buy anything that doesn't come directly from a pet store.
