Standard: a girl and a guy are obviously main characters, but the girl likes someone else. It's either the girl stops liking the other, or that the guy she likes turns out to be mean/ annoying/ bad. Or that she wants to get revenge. This is not used all the time, of course, but I've seen it a lot nonetheless.
