Though this manga is cute and sweet, it's not sugarcoated.
The greatest, well loved wizard died, (compared to the usual "the girl has something special, better than the rest one way or another") the girl is really just as she is, no super duper undiscovered powers and stuff...
Too bad, because the story succeeded in making me charmed by the wizard...
It could've been so much nicer if he lived and came back.
