Popularity in the story or to the viewers? Because if its the latter I think in Shounen or Sports anime its plentiful. E.g. (Attack on titan) Eren < Levi
BNHA, baku is a fan favorite and won popularity poll, I think a lot of stories have a more side characters? Psycho pass MC is akane but shinya is way more popular...
Is there any anime where the side character(s) are more popular than the main character?
for example, I thought Izaya is the MC of Durarara instead of Mikado because of his polarity( until I started to watch it) Thanks!
