What is up with all these semes calling ukes "my wife" "my bride" "mother of my child" or whatever. Like dude, that's a guy. Please stop, its a bit disrespectful to them if you think about it. You guys can both be husbands fathers and grooms. No need to call them a girl just because you stick your penis in them. Its even worse when they call the asshole a vagina. I came here to read two dudes (or more ;)) being gay..... Ugh. Anyway anyone got a mango where the guys know the other is a guy and doesn't later say "I want you to be my bride" or what have you? Thank you for listening to the rant of a fujoshi with the flu. (● ̄(エ) ̄●)

I think its becuase of the language barrier. Im not too sure about this but in other languages they dont have a boy/girl terminology for names, like they dont exactly have a "bride" or a "groom" title, take for example tagalog, we don't have the word "bride" we only have the word "Asawa" which is only a direct translation of "husband" but husband isnt for any specific gender, so the translations may just use the word "bride". I think thats the case in most translations and it was not just to be rude. Sorry if this didnt help much just wanted to shed some light. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

Uh hi, I don't like when they do that either (well and also i don't like feminism ukes) but i can recommend manly ukes as a tag cause you cant really say that when there not that female, but i myself do have a yaoi that comes to mind at that the uke does cross dress but its not obnoxious at that. he mostly does it because he likes girly things and such ( i think..?) and the seme is originally gay and progressively falls in love with the uke. Its actually really cute and i think you might like it, its only 3 chapters or so and the art styke is actually really, cartonnish . I'll see if i can find it in all of my book marks.

I think it also depends on the situation. I do hate it when the seme is all like, "You're my woman, you belong to me," but sometimes it can be funny, or cute, or even sexy. I've seen it sometimes where the seme will say to the parents of the uke, "I'd like him to be my bride," and the reactions of everyone can be funny. Even during some steamy scenes where the seme refers to the uke and his *parts* as feminine, it can be sexy in that moment. But yes, I generally do not like semes who treat their ukes as women, but there are exceptions ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
And sorry about your requests, but I can't recall any specific mangas where a certain phrase is said, I just know I've read it in many mangas. If you're willing to wait some time, I could try and look through my lists (▰˘◡˘▰)

Well, Eigyou Nika would be the type of manga you're searching for. I mean, they're still referring to the uke as the wife but the seme says that they are equals ! (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

some ukes call themselves housewives or brides though. but yeah, it's probably a language/translation thing?

I understand what you meant but yaoi mangas are based on cisheteronormative relationships you know not gay relationships gay folks usually don't care about being uke or seme like yaoi mangas. So,don't take it seriously that much.

So what you're saying is that women relate more to the uke of a story then... Or something like that? I don't really get why you would want to read boyxboy and then want one of the guys to be called a girl in title. I have no problem in the uke being feminine, but unless he's transgender, he's a guy and should be called such. I guess its just a difference in taste but if I really wanted to see a guy get a "bride" I'd go to shoujo. I guess I just don't understand?

Maybe I don't care about gender roles like you obsessively. Also,I don't expect a cis(het) woman mangaka to be able to understand cis gay relationships. lol

Okay, so not every manga is exactly what you asked for, but these are all the ones I could think of that involve "brides" in some way.

There is one more that I know of, where they have been engaged since they were children and one of them thought the other was a girl the whole time...but I just cannot find it. I'll look again when I have more time, but these are what I have for now. Enjoy! ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~

Listen, isn't it assigning gender roles if a guy is taking care of his kids, doing laundry, and cooking and then calling him a wife or a mother? Or if the one who is the bottom is called a woman? Men, fathers, and husbands can be nurturing, nice, and/or submissive. I just don't like that in a lot of yaoi, a guy who shows his distaste in being called a female, is continuously still called that just because of some of his characteristics. Its disrespectful, especially since its done by someone who claims to love them so much. I don't think its that hard to understand "cis"(whatever that means) gay relationships. Its just two men, who like men, who love each other/have a relationship with each other. And its not that hard to research how gay relationships work, or how gay men feel in relationships.

It's about gender roles.Mangakas probably researches gay porn but that's all.Gay relationship is not as simple as you said.I say again "Yaoi mangas are based on cis hetero relationships" If it bothers you that much then don't read these kind of mangas. It's not hard to do.

Also, some of yaoi mangas are so transphobic and it really bothers me so I try not to read these kind of mangas. That's easy.
