I think not showing his parents reaction was a testament to how strong his resolve is. He doesn't care what their reaction is, hi relationship will stay the same regardless.

Author DID show the main part. It was the seme clearly stating his love and strong will and responsibility, to the uke, his lover, bot to anyone else..... :)
