War.. war never changes. Seriously this is a repeat of why Eren is so mad in the first place titans broke in and killing people. He is literarily doing the exact same thing.

They gave Marley a long chance. But Marley kept sending ships and going to war with them. Eren scoped them out, saw the there were good and bad, and yet Marley was getting the whole world united to DESTROY the Eldians, who had left them alone for a long time and would have continued leaving them alone had Marley not been so full of hate.

Eren is not the same. He listened to the speech, he protected a couple of the Titans, and he heard this man threatening the utter destruction of his people and himself. That's the endgame for Marley: all Eldians dead. And trust me, that includes the Eldians they treat like slaves and non-citizens.

Eren is no way on the same footing as Marleyans.

I really hate this argument that comes up every now and then. I know that no matter what I say, you won’t change your views. There’s really no point arguing.

I don’t think the point of Shingeki is to criticize one nation, but that they are all humans who are weak, foolish and sinful, just like you and me.
Not all people in Paradis Island are good, not all people in Marley are bad, as Eren said to Reiner.
I don’t even want to bring this up, but the Eldians are said to have enslaved the rest of the world with the power of the Titans for hundreds? of years. Okay, I don’t know how much of that is true, but then, a hundred years is not long enough for people to forget fear and hatred. If you’re in your teens, you might feel like a hundred is long, but once you come to a certain age you’d realize that a hundred is not that long. Hatred carries on for generations.
And it’s difficult to overcome fears and trust others, who are ‘different.’ After all, the Eldians are not just people of different race, but they are some kind of mutants who can transform into monsters. No offense, that’s how the rest of the world sees them, and I don’t blame them. It’s like, there’s no way to disarm them, because they are like living atomic bombs. The rest of the world wanted to get rid of them, while the Marleys decided to use them. The Marleys were cruel, but they were the only people that decided not to kill them.

The only way to overcome this vicious circle is love, forgiveness and trust.
Could you forgive someone who had your family eaten by titans?
The descendants of Marleys couldn’t, Eren couldn’t. That’s just human.

You really think that if Eren and every Paradisian said: "We won't harm you. We forgive you. Let's live in peace" that the Marleyans would just give up and sing kumbaya while holding hands. No. Not gonna happen. Just like all the appeasement in the world wasn't gonna stop Hitler or Hirohito or Stalin or Mao or Al Qaeda or the Taliban. Yes, the solution is to talk, understand, love, and forgibve. But that doesn't happen in this effed up world except in rare cases or more like individual or smaller group interactions (like the reconciliation events in So Africa). Personal.

But the way this story is set up, the Eldians are being punished for what they did in th e long past. It's like saying modern Americans should be slaves because of slavery a century plus ago. Or that Japanese should be slaves of the countries they oppressed in the Imperialistic wars. Or that Germany should be forever subject to England and France and Sweden, etc, as their slaves and second-class Europeans for WWII.

No. Not gonna happen. The Eldians weren't bothering anyone...until Marley stuck in it. And clearly we saw that the "monsters" in Marley are subject to Marley and the "monsters" in the walls were living pretty normal lives. UNTIL...Marley fucked it up.

I am almost sixty. So, silly of you to think I haven't lived through upheavals. In fact, I've had members of my extended family TORTURED by tyrants. Tyrants don't give a shit about love and peace.
