    You should take into account this is Japanese. And in Japan they have marriage 'ages' where you are EXPECTED to be married or looking for a spouse. All the more so if you work in an office environment. Omiai are real, especially in the old families/money, adn are frequently political. This is their culture.
    Why do you think that so many women are refusing to get married and are more focused on their careers nowadays? The decline in births? Japan's mainstream culture suffocates the contemporary generation (generally), this leads to HEAPS of problems, which I won't get into, since this was supposed to be a friendly reminder that you shouldn't read manga only through the lens of YOUR world, but through the world of its origin first. Makes sense, right?
    Who knows, maybe you'll be inspired to learn about them :)
