    How is a course on anime even possible? e.e? What jobs will that help you get? Or is it like an extra thing?

    You could do the origin of the word Fujoshi, who coined it and how did it spread?

    Who can it be applied to and what does it mean?

    Why can't some people keep fiction/fantasy separate from real life?

    Do Fujoshis cause harm or have an impact on LGBT+?

    How does the LGBT+ community feel about Fujoshi?

    Is there a significant difference between Fujoshi and Fudanshi?

    Why do people read BL?

    Who makes up the consumers of BL, as in, percentages of gender, ethnicity, age, etc.?

    The BL industry - how much they make, creators, publishers, content, etc.

    Why is rape so prevalent?

    Comparison and contrast between BL and GL

    i saw a tumblr post saying that Yuri is not equivalent to Yaoi and that shoujo-ai is not used for GL, it means pedophilia. You can do something with that - ascertain if it's true, what's the correct usage or how to denote GL, why is yuri and yaoi not the same, difference in readers and etc.

    Why is there not a lot of BL and GL anime created? How to get it approved? Are there laws against it or constricting the making of, is there a limit or a rating that can't be done? Why is it that I never see them available in DVD or even finding them online to watch is a bit difficult/not easily accessible but especially in stores. Same with print versions.

    The toxicity in the culture

    Doujinshis
    Fanfiction
    Fanart

    different mediums and by different cultures
    i.e:
    manga = Japan
    manhwa = Korea
    manhua = China
    webtoons, webcomics, bara, shounen-ai, etc.

    time period and the change in art styles, plot (or lack or inclusion of), outside influences such as what was happening in real life at the time and if something from it was included in the work

    How female characters are often treated/written and made to be annoying or the outright antagonist

    Why is there so few bisexual characters? or ace or aro or trans?

    Seme and uke :
    - the tropes
    - origins and meaning
    - pronunciation (so many people still don't know how to say them correctly, she-meh & ooh-keh)
    - why they most often don't depict real gay relationships
    - why some people are so hung up on characters sticking to one role and don't want "sekes" or reversible couples
    - other?

    YURI!!! ON ICE and it's major success and positivity and why it's a sports anime with a romance between two male characters and not just some BL with figure skating

    uuh, wow, that's a lot, it got away from me haha(⌒▽⌒) i hope something interests you or inspires you!
    If possible, could you share your paper once it's done? Only if you want to of course!
    Best of luck!

    LOL I mean it’s not common sure but it’s listed as a Film Studies/East asian literature class. I’m a senior and it’s my last semester so I really just wanted to take a course that’s fun and that I’m interested in. My school also doesn’t believe in the idea of pre-professional classes. As in, they focus more on education for the sake of education, not for getting a job.

    WOW AHMAZING I’m glad you got inspired by my question, idk why so many ppl dislike it lol but I’m super excited and all these questions are so interesting! I think I’m gonna write about the seme/Ike relationship for sure thanks for your help!!

    Nope, I think it is a lil embarrassing to tell a future employer I took a class on anime but 1) nobody actually looks at your transcript that carefully and 2) I will probs never get a job anyways HAHA.

    If you’re talking about being embarrassed about writing about yaoi, not at all. It’s not like I’m gonna be gushing over the smuttiness of BNHA dj’s or something. Yaoi as a culture is fascinating and says a lot about sexuality, gender, Japanese culture and literature. There’s a lot of published academia on anime/manga and now there are even books and academics who study yaoi! The more ya know
