Dunno where you got that part about Haru, but no, he didn't beg for love and affection (in fact he said anyone was fine as long as they shelter him)! He said he didn't expect that is Seme and especially his other 'master'. I know you commented this long ago but I have to speak up in defense of him. Though I agree that he succumb to harsh reality but you have to consider his circumstances.
This is so good. Even the title is good. Cinematic Mirror, Oide's complex about his father mirrors Haru's complex with his. Rather they are the exact opposites.
Oide is earnest in surpassing the shadow left by his great father while Haru gave up and just succumbed to the shadow of failure his father left on him, begging for love and affection, clinging to anyone willing to solicit him some.
Oide succeeds to make a mark in the industry on his own, overcoming his complex, and in return, inspires Haru to remove himself out of his father's shadow and thus strives to earn himself a living and to give and reciprocate love as he should.
