This mahnwa left more questions than answers. I think not contacting iro was part of the agreement as Tess is still trying to 'win over' René , I don't think he would sleep with Tess basing from the conversation in bar the reason why he agreed was not because he was sorry or feel the need to help Tess due to his trauma like before but because Tess said that he would leave him alone if he does, so he can no longer use his sickness or threatening suicide to get sex from rene. When they left the bar and René thanked him for sorting out his feelings and then Tess was calling out its already shows that Tess can no longer manipulate his way to René, and the last panel where René and iro reunite meant that he had already sorted things with Tess and that they can start fresh again. That is only my interpretation though
