I don't agree with liking shinoa but I do agree with your overall statement. The romance between yuu and shinoa is a bit... Forced? They wouldn't go well together and I don't think Yuu himself likes her that way either

I love Shinoa but I see no chemistry between her and Yuu. I will be so disappointed if this turns out another "hero falls in love with heroine". I'd honestly would rather see Shionas feelings not be returned and she learn and grow from that.
Atm I honestly don't see Yuu ending up with anyone. I can see him dying with how passionate and self sacrificing he is.
I'd be happy though if the whole gang stays as a gang.
