Why is he stupid? He had just sent a text 'go die' to He Tian and next thing he sees is a picture that, for all he knew, was He Tian's arm with what looked like blood. Unless He Tian is being a bigger jerk that he already is and sent the picture as a prank, he is the one that is stupid for taking take kind of picture without realizing that could be interpreted as blood.
Mo is not being stupid, he is acting as expected for a good person. It's not even a confession what he wrote, he is doing exactly what anyone with good heart would do.
