Well it did happen this way tho? they met twice, not once, but he refused to listen the first time. And I think part of the reason he forgave her after hearing her is because he realised that he was wrong about her. He wouldn't have let her come back anyway because of his father.
If I were him, I would not forgive so easy. His father destroyed her life, it's truth. She had hard time, it's truth. But she got back on her feet and she started successfully new life. She left her own children with such a man like her husband but she still didn't even try to contact them once. She just talked with him because of coincidence (what would happen if she never met Kang Mirae, maybe she would never try to contact them).
I know that old law in Korea was discriminatory for mothers (the case of Ko Hyun-Jung) but still I think in this case she was just a coward. True mother would try to contact her children even if they would despise her. It's better to be hated than not existing in children life.
that's where you're wrong. she did try to contact them, but the father and his family didn't let her. you can see that somewhere in the story where she talks about how she had a hard time starting up a new life. and she was also told her children believed their father. since she couldn't contact them directly, she hoped to be able to contact them indirectly one day, such as mirae. And we can see that when she met him the first time, he just told her hurtful words such as the father would say, not listening to her. The fact she went back again to talk to him even tho he talked to her like that was wonderfull.
The truth is that she just gave up on her own children. She was too prideful to be a mother. They said that they don't want to talk. She still should try to call and explain. Maybe after few years they would change mind. It's not like she is some uneducated women from nowhere. She is successful women who left her children with the husband who hurt her physically.It's really normal for you? I know that she was devastated but she stilI got back on her feet, successfuly released her own magazine. So she could do that but she couldn't contact her children who were manipulated by her husband. I could understand her only if it'd be said that she got restraining order. But it looks like it wasn't the case because she still could talk with her children. She was just too afraid of rejecting.
I like this webtoon because it's really wise story. That's why I am quite disappointed that again we have the same old scheme with mother who left his children because of bad husband. Of course such a situation happens in true life (so I don't have problem with that) but the truth is children do not easy forgive being left. Even if mother had reasons, for them it more matters that she wasn't with them when they grew up.One conversation and forgiveness, I doubt that it'd happen in true life. It could take really long time for him to forgive her (although resentment probably lasts forever).
