To begin with, he was pretty bad, but he has improved in my opinion. I don't think he is the worst when it comes to characters in Yaoi. I really enjoy reading Hidoku shinaide, so I'm a bit biased ╮(￣▽￣)╭ but I think you should give it a read.

Minor spoilers if you're not up to date:
Maya lied to Nemu about where he was one night. Nemu was rightfully mad at him for betraying his trust and especially with someone Nemu is already suspicious of. The problem was quickly swept under the rug with some sweet words from Maya.
Is Maya a scumbag? No, but he's absolutely wrong for lying to Nemu. I think the problem is that Maya and Nemu are very inexperienced with serious relationships. They're both still learning how to properly communicate and resolve their problems. I hope to see them grow more from this current arc.

I've read it too, I think as a couple they don't have good communication skills so misunderstandings and things are going to be commonplace :P
It makes for an interesting story, all the drama, is what I think hehe
