Actually he said "If all of this did never happen...would there be any connection between us?" meaning that if none of those things happened then they probably wouldn't have been as close as they are now. So I'm being led to think that the narration in chapter 3 is YuYang from the present recounting back to all of his and LiHuan's interactions leading up to the present. So I'm pretty sure all of those issues he listed will happen in the future as it builds up their relationship along the way, because if they didn't happen, then he's questioning whether or not they'll still be as close or have any connection between them if not for all those issues, that will eventually happen in the future
