Why are people so confused by Veggie Channel???

If you’re looking for Vege’s story, you’ll never get it (unless
author-san decides to do a second volume). This story was never about Vege. It
was always a UkyoxSeri story. It was just mostly told in the third person. If you’re
confused by the POV, you just need to read carefully. Each chapter is actually
named after who’s point of view it is. For example, chapter 1 is called, “Live
1: Vege Channel.” This means it’s in Vege’s POV or the focus is on that person.
Chapter 4 is called, “Live 4: Hakka Channel,” which means it’s in Hatsuka’s POV
or the focus is on him.

As for Ukyo and Serizawa’s relationship, they’re childhood
friends and lovers. They love each other. Ukyo’s family was on the brink of bankruptcy
and his family must have borrowed a lot of money from Serizawa’s and couldn’t
pay it back. And because they have never really voiced their feelings to each
other, he probably thought Ukyo’s only with him because he feels obligated to. Serizawa
loves Ukyo; therefore, he acts the villain because he wants to free Ukyo’s from
the debt his family owes his father. He believes that if he was caught sexually
harassing Ukyo, his father would be forced to forgive Ukyo’s family debt. He
probably started their sexual relationship with that plan in mind. This is why
he seeks Vege out. This is also why he’s so frustrated when Ukyo wouldn’t call
for help or fight against him.

However, Ukyo also loves Serizawa, so he didn’t want
anything to happen to Serizawa. Getting caught sexually abusing him would be a
great blow to Serizawa’s reputation. He loves Serizawa; therefore, he doesn’t want
that. He doesn’t want Serizawa to have to play the villain. He knows Serizawa doesn’t
enjoy playing the villain but that he’s doing it for his sake. So, no matter
what Serizawa does to him, he just takes it, and this frustrate Serizawa
because he’s probably thinking ‘why won’t he take the freedom I’m offering him?!’.
Ukyo doesn’t see Serizawa’s plan as a way out. He hopes that he’ll be able to
solve their family situation when they’re both older but things just sorta got
out of hand.

The main issue here is their lack of communication. They
love each other; therefore, they’re trying to protect each other. Serizawa
believes he’s trying to help Ukyo and Ukyo believes he’s helping Serizawa. They’re
just two idiots in love.
