The third story tho

Otakucat14 May 31, 2018 6:54 am

I just loved the third story mainly because of the way the traumatic rape situation was handled. I just love how this mangaka didnt make the seme force himself on the uke in an attempt at trying to "cure" him, but rather let the uke go at his own pace. The seme understood the situation and loved the uke regardless of whether or not they would be able to make out. He didnt even try advancing until the uke said he was ready, which i think is so frikin rare in manga that deal with this issue.
It was pretty short, but then again it was a oneshot and obviously expected to be resolved in a few pages.
Great job mangaka!!! (●'◡'●)ノ

Perhaps you will also notice that this isn't, technically, yaoi. It is shounen ai. Go back and look at the "sex scenes". They are only implied, not explicit. You never see a penis or penetration. The two characters kissing, laying together in bed, but never the actual act of sex. This is what separates shounen ai from yaoi. An easy way to look at it is: Shounen ai is like a rated R movie and Yaoi is a triple X rated porn. Because that is what yaoi is. Porn. Gay porn. Written for women. This is why, when readers complain about rape in yaoi, I recommend that they read shounen ai. It takes a certain amount of mental and emotional maturity - and even a little mental derangement - to appreciate XXX porn. Do you watch a lot of XXX porn or read a lot of hentai? If not, then yaoi is going to seem very strange and extreme to you. I don't recommend shounen ai to be mean. I do it with sincere concern because I know and understand what yaoi is and the purpose it is meant to serve. What is the purpose of XXX porn? It's not to tell a sweet love story, is it? No. It is meant to arouse with explicit scenes depicting fetishes of all kinds. Right? If you enter a XXX porn site, do you complain that there is porn being shown there? No. Because you know it is a porn site. So, you either don't go to that site or you know what you are going to see if you do. But it isn't like that with manga. Especially free manga. That is why we categorize the manga and have tags that tell us what to expect. In the case of manga, if you don't like porn, don't read hentai... or yaoi. Because rape is a popular theme in both genres.

Allow me to say one more thing. I agree with your comment. I liked how that situation was handled too. It was a very mature, level headed response. A "realistic" response. I don't think any sane person, in real life, would respond to the person they love being raped with even more rape of their loved one. Another marker of the shounen ai genre. The scenes tend to be closer to realistic than yaoi. Or they are, at least, more believable.

BULLSHIT!! Don't categorize yaoi as XXX Porn! Or "dealing with fetishes of all sorts." That is NOT what yaoi is about.
Yaoi tells sweet love stories, artistically created, respectable sensitively handled, sophisticated, intelligent, advanced themes, and any other invention of an artist and author who creates and expresses herself through her art!
I really just want to kick your ass. How dare you categorize these incredible artist's works that way.
The ARTIST decides how she wants to express her story. If that includes showing a love scene, that's how she feels it is best expressed within her art.
You think you can just erode the opinions of others about artists?Don't act all benevolent while handing out garbage information like it's fact.

Wtf kind of yaoi stories do you read? Not every yaoi story deals with rape and it the artist decision to show the sex scenes. Just because artists choose not to show them having sex or have censorship doesn’t make the story any less yaoi. Comparing porn to yaoi is really insensitive to the author that put their hard work and time into making the story for us to read. And we are reading it for free. Yaoi isn’t just “gay porn” and you’re ignorant if you view it as that. Most yaoi story actually have a deep meaningful plot. You should understand what yaoi is. Yaoi isn’t “gay porn” but boy love. Romantic stories between boys. It really insulting for you to call it gay porn. Yaoi manga is capable of telling a sweet love story while also having explicit scenes. You should really think before you reply to stuff.
