Never too late to learn! I just started to learn how to read hiragana. The basics! I can now read Japanese picture books for babies. (๑•ㅂ•)و✧ Plus in this technological age, we're blessed with so many apps to help us learn. Just take it a step at a time~ ╮(￣▽￣)╭

But.... sometimes you have to pay for manga you actually want to read... I'm too broke to do that
I wish in the US they would translate more manga's. There is a company somewhere in California that has a company. On Twitter I see so many new manga's and get jealous knowing it may be years before we finally get it or it gets translated. Ugh!
Sometimes I wish I learned to read in Japanese. Do you know how many manga's come out a year that we still haven't gotten or was translated? I would have a blast if I knew the language.
