I agree though... since he has never had any relationships (not even friendships) he may not be thinking that far ahead. He's stopping himself by believing it's impossible for him without some godly help. I'm like dude, he liked you before you prayed to a temple!
Well it's understandable that this is probably his first time falling in love and first real relationship, but he could be a bit more considerate of the guy who has loved him for so long's feelings too.
