What's your age range? Even if it's a little strange, "The Handmaid's Tale" is one of my favorites. I happen to be reading the complete Sherlock Holmes, but it's a little long, and I'm a bit slow, so I probably won't finish till summer. (⌒▽⌒)

Last Game, Charming Junkie, Super Lovers, Silver Diamond, Switch Girl, The Wallflower, Ouran High School Host Club, Hunter X Hunter (The last three are good as animes), Koori no mamono no monogatari

'Ender's Game' from Orson Scott Card is really interesting. At first sight, it looks like any sci-fi novel, following the path of a young prodigy boy isolated and trained to be a perfect tool, and who is not allowed to be happy. And yet, it's full of spiritual matters. It grows in depth through the books and the ages of the main character. Though, the 1st and 2nd book are really sad and bitter, warning.
