I somewhat like the whole scenario since its not cliché, it had opened up a new view and gives too much feels into it. But thinking that if ever it happend on real life scenario, I think it would be difficult for me to forgive Natsuki since he already confess that he has a special someone who is very important to him in chp.3 that's why they stop and goes to the bath house, and still he initiated again to have sex, and forgot about his feelings for Arata. It more than the feelings of enjoyment of sex that he feels, but completly rejection of his overall love for Arata. Being cheated is like losing your entire self-confidence and self-worth maybe that is why Arata resolved into beating up Natsuki (I don't approve physical violence). And that shows how immature they both are into holding a realationship that is why they need to separate and think for themselves, either to continue with it or separate for good. (By the way I like how the overall story goes and the ending:)
