Whether you enjoyed this manhwa or not, this is just a gentle and friendly reminder that abusive relationships can take many different forms. I've seen many people asking "why would kyung-soo stay after being raped? That's so stupid!" And while I understand this confusion, it is unfortunately very common in abusive relationships. The person being abused can sometimes lose sight of the fact that they deserve respect, and other times they get used to conflating toxic behavior with love and affection. There are also situations in which the victim has developed a coping mechanism to deal with the relationship by being codependent or submissive and is afraid or unmotivated to seek out a different way of life. That is just the gist of it, but to summarize the logic in a victim who stays in an abusive relationship is very complex and probably isn't going to make a whole lot of sense to someone who's never been in one.

Furthermore, the decision to stay in an abusive relationship doesn't make you stupid or weak. You are doing your best to deal with the abuse in your own way and you should feel encouraged to seek help when possible. I promise that shaming the victim into leaving will not work and often the reason that they stay is rooted in a lack of self worth anyway. I work at a homeless center and unfortunately it often takes 6 or 7 times of leaving and repeating the cycle of violence until the victim finally leaves for good. It's just not as simple as leaving because someone is hurting you.

Thankfully. This is just fiction! No real people are getting hurt, but just in case, i would like to mention that this manga is obviously not representative of a healthy or balanced relationship. If you like reading it that's fine and I'm absolutely not judging you. Just keep in mind, this behavior is absolutely unacceptable in real life and if you or someone you know is struggling with being abused in any kind of domestic relationship, I strongly encourage you to seek help and or provide support to that victim. You are a beautiful human being and you deserve proper love and respect.
