It's pretty clear to me that the author is using the juxtaposition of the two couples to show violence stemming from anger and fear in a relationship (Jiwon and DG) and violence stemming from mutual consent and trust (Chanwoo and MD).
At this point, if DG and Jiwon got together, they would be in an unhealthy, abusive relationship. I really hope DG says no to the sex, but I doubt it. I think that until Jiwon can get some help with anger management, they can't have a healthy relationship together. Even this chapter - how hard did he grab DG's arm that DG was rubbing the spot after?
