I didn't like the first story much to begin with, but it grew on me as I kept reading. Normally I don't like characters like these, one overly needy and has someone do everything for them, and the other ridiculously devoted and obsessive to the point of stalking, but these two are perfectly happy together (most of the time?) so in this case it's balanced and works.
