From what I know, any official rating that has high ratings or so is mostly from Japan, for example if an anime or manga is popular in America but not in Japan, it won't really matter or count

Question for older fujoshis- was Togainu no Chi a big thing when it was released in 2010? I’m asking this because there’s so many anime figurines on it, or was it just popular in Japan and not In America(or Europe)
Just curious because no other shounen ai anime has THAT many figurines
