Reread this and the women confuse me.

The last time I read this, I was wrapped up in Yuuichi and Iori. I never paid much attention to the women. Am I getting this right? The blonde was actually Iori's birth mother and she married him to have him close to her? Someone tell me I'm wrong because that is fucked up! At first, I thought the women were lovers and the marriage was a pretense to bring their families together and thus, they could be closer. But the last scene confused the fuck out of me. It seemed like the blonde who was the bride (right?) was talking about Iori as her child and how she failed at keeping him close. Or maybe she meant she had no luck with children because the man who was supposed to be her husband ran of before the honeymoon. I don't fucking know! Ahhhhhh! I hate it when I can't understand a story!!

Okay, here goes my writer's theory. Blonde and brunette chicks are lovers, but blonde is tragically raped and becomes pregnant. Blonde has to hide the baby and does so with her lover who has subsequently married. Brunette takes in child, raising him as her own. Due to the tragic rape, blonde is now unable to have children. She only finds this out after marrying. Blonde becomes a widow and begins to miss, and regret giving up, her son. She can't just take him away from his adoptive family because her family would never accept the bastard child of a rapist. So, she schemes to marry him to have him close and part of her family, legally. She never intends to consummate the marriage since she can't have children anyway. This way she has her son at her side and is now bound to her lover through her marriage to her lover's "son". The son is free to love whom he choses, the women are free to be close and not be scorned by society and both mothers have their son close. Wins all around.

Somehow, as fucked up as my story is, I like this ending better. LOL No life force eating clans and no one has to die.

I thought the same too but when the wedding is being held, the bride's hair is black but now it's blonde and also I'm still confused as to who is Iori's mother XD

So the bride is supposed to be Mari right? The blonde haired girl, niece of Hisayo, which means Iori's cousin?

And the bride is the one under the veil/head covering right? But why was Hisayo (Iori's mom) the one under the veil? Is he marrying his own mom?

Then I got more confused, When Iori's sister asked for a room she was asking the bride "is there a spare room we can use Hisayo-sama?"

I thought all this time Hisayo was their mother, but seems like she isn't? After all she wouldn't call her mother by her name. And Iori would probably not marry her own mother. So who is Hisayo exactly?
