Amor is his latin name. Eros is the greek. It still stands that his name means love, but it makes more sense since he's the god of love.
In a real world sense, how about those japanese anime characters and stuff whose name is "Ai" that literally means love, in two languages?
But being actually named "love", I only know people named "Lovely"

For a German reading 'Liebe' as a name is really weird... Amor is a greek god, but 'Liebe'... Ever heard of someone called 'Love'?
