If u read the novel it makes sense

I read plenty of novels but I'm not interested enough to read this one's novel.

The novel is pretty good and interesting actually, I would recommend to read it first than watching the serie or the manwha c:

tbh at first i wasn't that enamored with the story, especially with how the other comments were losing their minds. But i checked out the fandom (there's a lot of fanart) and got more intrigued so i read the novel (the writing's different from what im used to but it's rlly good) and now i'm burning from the inside, and i've started to learn Chinese??? (i can't channel the feels anywhere else ok)

I almost never read any novel..except this one. Trust me, it's very good..I don't usually get so emotional with novel but this one make me wanna cry

It's extremely well written novel and I'm suuuuuper picky. And Exiled rebels does an excellent translation.
Fleshed out characters and motivations. No mary/gary sue characters. None to little deus ex machina. Even the McGuffin (the demonic arm) has a proper reason, character and backstory.
It has moments where you can feel your heart breaking one second and burst your gut open funny the next, followed by moments of pure terror for characters. (Side characters you love are not immune to death, especially in flash backs) The amount of flash backs can get annoying, but that is literally my only complaint.

Then try watching the donghua, maybe seeing it in motion will make more sense to you.
