When did Google translations, cut panels, uncleaned and unTLed SFX, and watermarks from stolen raws become better quality than a scan team that works their asses off to match the quality of the artist's work and purchases their raws to support that artist?! Hmmmmm......

By better I meant they were able to get it out faster and still have it be understandable, which I know you understood so attacking vague word choice will not, in fact get you anywhere. The other translator said it was their first project anyway, so they get some leeway in terms of quality regardless. Getting consumed by other projects is fine, you're doing this for free so you should translate what interests you and what you enjoy doing. That said, you don't get infinite ownership over a translation project just because you were the first to start it, and if you're so involved in other projects you find more interesting that one gets neglected for a long period of time, you don't then get to get upset someone else fills in for you. It's not your intellectual property, so anyone can translate it if they want.
Not sure what the entire second paragraph is even saying so can't respond to that, but I will say that the other translator got the faster, everyone could understand what was being said, and people seemed happy overall about the update, which all looks like competition to me.
This is a stupid thing to get into an argument over, though. I'm just throwing in my to cents, which is mostly amusement mixed with some annoyance, and I'm not going to argue further.
tl;dr take as much time as you want, but know you risk other people taking over the project if you take too long, whatever your reasons may be. ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~
Wow you are so toxic. This isn't a "business", nor a competition, seems to me like you don't really care much about the series itself. We still release what we pick up regardless of anyone else posting a chap just coz we were "oh so late", so no it really doesn't matter to us. Our version is superior anyways.
Well in your defense I guess it's good that you do a lot and stuff but in their defense your update rate on this specific toon has been extreeeeemely slow, and that's entirely your fault for taking on too much.
They are doing it for free, and it's pretty obvious the great effort they put in every single panel of every chapter. Yes, they are slow when it comes to release chapters, but you don't have the right to talk to them like they are at fault for you and every other person that instead of learning the language and go to read the original version, just choose to complain about people doing the job for free.

You don't seem to realise that as translators, we can understand the other language, and translating it and risking DMCA is a whole lot of unnecessary goodwill and effort, completely wasted on readers like you. I’m grateful for the translators, but saying they have infinite dibs because they got to it first is kinda conceited. If you guys are against this manga being uploaded here in the first place, then I really don’t see the problem as to why you’re mad and on here. There’s no actual dibs on scanlating, if things like this happen, then you just have to release your own version. No need to come here on Anon accounts to give hate. There’s no question that they worked hard for this and alot of people are definitely grateful. But that’s not the issue, the issue is someone from the group went and claimed that they had inifite dibs just cause they scanlated it first, which is a no go. Scanlating is not something that’s regulated, it started because people wanted to share their love of manga, and that’s why we translate it to share to others. It’s not right to say this is mine in scanlating, cause it aint. Yes, the scanlators are doing a noble job scanlating for others, but you have to know the ‘field’ that you’re getting in. It’s not regulated, you are pirating, no dibs to other people who also just wish to share the manga, “etiquette” is only a courtesy call and not really asking for permission, because the ONLY one who has the right to give permission to this manga is the author. It’s the sad reality of scanlating. Is it fair? Maybe not, but it’s also not fair to the author you’re scanlating from in the first place.
