In this story humans have bigger lifespan, that is one of the reasons they ar ok with wicked bieng with the littel one.
the last chapter did mentioned that kenshin is watching over their great-great-great grandchild..so it appears that the original has died like xiao lan,gui n etc. taking care the future generation. with arctic fox beside him. which makes me wonder if he changed to NPC as well. this is what I have understood. oh well...thanks for your thought (づ￣ ³￣)づ
