I’m sure the author will twist it that way. Tough love... it’s been included in other works before. It’s still fucked up and doesn’t make it ok lol but you have to expect this kind of behavior (he had to do this because he loved him lol). I think it’s seen as sweet? Friendship?
Once i stopped trying to understand it, it didn’t annoy me as much anymore.
