I totally get what you mean, but what genre are you looking for? Or are you ok with anything? tbh I've always prefer MC who are smart and capable instead of the clumsy and dumb type ever since I was a kid. I could never comprehend nor sympathize with stupid MC's although when I was younger I didn't care as much, but nowadays it's just so cringy and infuriating that I can't take it lol. Like if I were to watch Sailor Moon for the first time right now I wouldn't be able to because Usagi is so dumb, but since I saw it when I was a kid I tolerated it, even though I didn't get why she was so dumb lol. Also, a few months ago I tried to watch Slam Dunk but the MC was so stupid and cringy I couldn't watch anymore after 5 episodes.
If you're looking for shonen, I recommend "Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken", the MC isn't exactly intellectual but he's not stupid at least, same with "Solo Leveling". There's also "The Scholar's Reincarnation", "The Beginning After The End"
If it's shojo, I'd recommend "Doctor Elise", "They Say I Was Born a King's Daughter", (Suddenly Became a Princess One Day)
If it's Yaoi "Here U Are"
(Sorry for recommending so many that are about reincarnation with past memories, but that's just what I've been reading lately because that's what's available and those are the ones where the MC's are not completely stupid)
That's exactly what I mean. Some have dumb-to-the-point characters that makes me want to just drop it. Rn, it's waaaay too common. It's making my brain cells deteriorate as well. Smart chara are better at least, but there are also those who are...too dumb in certain nonacademic situations. Like some stranger asking them come to them, and thEY JUST FOLLOW. Smart characters who can actually live on their own is where it's at. I don't even care if they're smartasses. If what they say are true, and if it actually makes sense, then it's a-okay. Or even they're just normal characters who have decent common sense.

...are there actual intellectual characters out there rn? Mangas I've been encountering with lately have MCs that are too dumb to comprehend or/and someone smart but with no street smarts whatsoever. Any recommendations that aren't what's said above?
Maybe I'm maturing...wanting more mature mangas than those nonconsented sex and all. I sound like fart but it's really getting me annoyed.
