Oh wow I really didn't expect that. The otome game must have been a interesting game-play if the heroine actually tricked the prince into liking her. I felt slightly scared because of her really weird face at the end but thinking about it now, it's just interesting. I guess that was a sort of proof that "ah, the heroine really outdid herself on trying to climb up the social ladder." She wasn't as innocent and naive like we initially taught. With the demon king at Aileen's side, I don't think she will be able to do much damage to Aileen.
ALSO! Can I just say what in the world was that prince Cedric thinking! ee ___ ee Why didn't he pay them?? If he knew what their situation is like, he could've at least found a way for the ones who were fired to have a source of living or at least payment for their efforts? Why is he a prince? Are most of the nobles at this kingdom really like this?
With that being said, I think embezzlement isn't as far off as well if that's how nobles are. Seriously, How exactly do they keep the monsters away from the humans? Based from the previous chapters, when Aileen went into the demon castle, she wasn't attacked by monsters on her way there. They attack if they're done wrong.
Honestly, It feels a bit odd that the demon king was left broke after spending money to desolate himself with the monsters. I find it hard to believe that maintaining "peace" with the humans needed that much money, to the point where even maintaining the castle was hard and paying keith was harder.
Actually, how often does keith eat? If they're broke.
