I don't like Shingo either. He was the most unnecessary love interest in this type of manga. Useless and annoying. His temper pissed me off. Every time I read this, I wonder why the author decided to expose her as a girl and pair them up. I skip everything related to Shingo and go for her missions. I get that you want her to be more human but I honestly think that could've gone a different way of doing it. Shingo should've just let her go and stop being so unnecessarily persistent. She left you, get over it. Then you get another group of boys and one of them is a carbon copy of Shingo again. Stap!!! I hoping for Shingo to die. Sounds terrible but I really could care less for him.
Shingo does not deserve her.
Honestly. He's so naive and normal and drab and plain and unreliable and gets in the way and is just...FRUSTRATING to watch. He just weighs her down. He literally doesn't support her in any way, in my opinion. All of the male characters are so pathetic. They're carbon copies of each other. Which is kinda why I don't like this manga as much as I should.
He also treats her like an IDIOT. Which is completely unnecessary and annoying. HE'S THE FREAKING IDIOT. He's so caught up in the, I'm always the one getting saved, I'm only your mission in the beginning and later parts of the manga. SHE'S A WORLD FAMOUS, EXTENSIVELY TRAINED, EXTREMELY TALENT AGENT. NO SHIT SHERLOCK YOU'RE ALWAYS GETTING SAVED. YOU'RE JUST A NORMAL STUDENT. WTF CAN YOU DO AGAINST A GUN???? I know you like her and everything but still...you have a brain. Use it.
I just wish her love interest were someone cooler and more competent.
Also, using his body to protect her when she's completely capable of dealing with it herself? STUPID.
He has a hothead as well, and he's clearly in the wrong practically every time they have an argument.
He also doesn't understand her, nor can discern the emotions she feel, nor the type of personality she has, when everyone else around them can. It's like he's in love with her image.
And it's like he keeps blaming Musashi for being "nine" which is REALLY annoying because she was like that even before she appeared in front of him and he keeps on saying stuff like "I'm just an assignment to you, aren't I, nine." Like he's assuming she doesn't have any emotions and refuses to see past that.
He keeps taking out his anger out on her when she did nothing but be herself. It's like he has a problem with her being who she is. If that's how it is, why'd he fall for her? I DON'T GET IT.
Keeps thinking she's unattainable, that she's a machine, basically criticizing her all the time.
He also is selfish as fuck? He's trying to freaking sort his love life out when there are people close to him who are in danger.
AND HE KEEPS FREAKING RUNNING AWAY AFTER HE'S MADE A DRASTIC DECISION. SUCH AS HIS CONFESSION.
He also, just ASSUMES her feelings? Like, he doesn't even tell her his feelings and just immediately thinks he'll be rejected. I WISH HE WAS.
I swear she has to deal with him like he would with a child.
K I'm gonna stop. i could probably go on for even longer, but I suppose this is enough.
