That would make him a monster. Going after the thief-killers and bullies is just. No one helped him, no one, and the authorities were useless, so him getting revenge = justice. But the little kids are innocent.
Now, I wonder if the reason he robbed the diner was for the kids....
Using the kids is just an excuse even for robbing. He could have asked help from the government instead of killing someone else. And he is a bully too
This is harsh, but I would go after the kids. If not killing them I'd at least torture them irreparably. You mess with me, I'll mess with you; you mess with my momma, I'll mess with the thing you care the most.
