Yeah but I think their feelings of guilt would have broke them up or effected their relationship especially when Aoi died in the end

You are right there wasn’t anything in the plot about the seme feeling it felt like after they started the story thought about changing the plot to make the seme like the uke from the beginning not just recently their feelings started because the love thing started all of the sudden without any signs
I cannot see the love that Shougo has for Yuito, when they meet he dismisses him and all the effort made was by the uke. If he always loved him like he said he did he wouldn't have dated Aoi, and wouldn't treat Yuito like he did, even the groveling was made by the uke when Shougo neglected him and chose to hang out with the copy of his former lover.
