DUDE I just reread this. I totally forgot the story (I'm not sure how I felt about it the first time?) but I liked the way it ended. I can't say that it was satisfying though. I really didn't like the parts with the other guy (I mean the senpai. the chef?) so I kinda skipped through them lol.
One thing I really don't like is how Kou's feelings is easily swayed. Like, it was such a disappointment to see him follow the other guy around until the last chapter. Idk, you can see he does love Ao, but he's so easily swept away... I guess that's just how he's written though. I just don't like it...
And Ao. Man. I can't even begin to understand why people hate on him. Him being the childhood friend that had feelings for Kou first doesn't give him an exclusive right or anything, and it was most definitely his fault that he didn't confess before Kou and the senpai hooked up. However, he couldn't help what he did after the accident, right? Even though he did keep Kou's past relationship a secret, he did feel remorse for it all the time, and couldn't forgive himself for what he did. What he did may be wrong, but the senpai's feelings weren't just strong enough that he didn't try to reach Kou with all he could, and he took advantage of that. He was also the one by Kou's side in his weakest moments. It's true that he might have done that to keep him to himself, but that had to take a lot of dedication from him.
(somehow I felt like I wanted to blabber more but my hands hurt and the ideas flew from my head so...)
Alright so I get a lot of you don't like it and say that Kou just felt "pity" for Ao. It's not. They were together for years, far longer than what he and that senpai had. And although they have been together for that period of time, Ao was carrying a burden all this time. He couldn't trust on Kou's love because he thought he was just deceiving him all this time. He was anxious, and there was nothing to reassure him, especially with Kou's habit of sleeping around. then the truth was revealed, blah blah. In the ending, Kou told the senpai that he didn't need him, so he chose Ao who needs him. I don't think this is pity. The senpai didn't need him in a way that his love wasn't enough that he needed Kou to be in his life. And Ao just told him that he did, that he doesn't want to be apart from Kou, and that Ao will never be truly happy except with him. And he chose that, the one who loves him more, the one who loved him more all this time.

Although they do have their flaws and their mistakes, I think I just like how it ended out.

yeah. peace out.
