Yeah rape/blackmail is in a lot of manga genres, usually they try to make you sympathetic towards the attacker. I’ve seen that tactic used in a lot of yaoi and shoujo manga’s.
I agree it wasn’t a bad story(definitely read darker) and thankfully it had a happy ending.I don’t know if I’d read it again but didn’t hate it.
