Her mom annoys the shit out of me. She didn't like unshaven version, but he's rich and successful and suddenly she's all gung-ho. How materialistic. I'm also a "wait until you get married" gal, but in the mom's case, I think it's all for appearances. I don't see them being all that religious or anything that it's a big sin for her or something.
And her daughter is not a little girl. She's closer to middle age than minority. Give it a rest, lady.

And from an influential family!” Like, I’d be pissed if my mom interferes with my relationship at 30. Granted, in Korea parents treat their kids differently than where I’m from, but come ON. Nanhee is being treated like an unruly teenager for experiencing life along a different track than what was planned for her. I’ll be honest, I know she wants the best for Nanhee, but jfc, her mom needs to back off. I know parents are more overbearing in other countries sometimes, but this is just ridiculous and feels like it’s feeding into a stereotypical trope. I mean, they’re both out of their 20s, yet Nanhee’s mom keeps bothering her about finding a “good job” when she’s already found something she wants to do in life.
