I think it was something of a mega large shadow world where everyone gets trapped? And I think it was that if you don't solve a shadow world they become real? I don't remember honestly but it should be written in the first chapters?

i thought they were training for the real shadow world by seeing first hand the replay of the invasion of the shadow world?

They're still in school, but the shadows have officially started.This isn't training, this is real. Only Desir knew when the shadows would appear and prepared his team for the D-day. Thats what the whole countdown was about. And thats why he worked so hard put himself and Romantica in danger to force her breakthrough.

Honestly, I don't have the best understanding of this either. So it doesn't hurt to reread the first couple of chapters, other ppl may notice something I missed. So if anyone has a better grasp of the story, or has read further feel free to enlighten us.

The shadow world is a historical event that has happened in the past.
Think about going into an instanced dungeon that takes you to the past before a disease outbreak, natural disaster, or war. You can use all your knowledge to help them realize whats happening, and help stop it (or whatever the quest dictates for you to resolve). So either you paid attention in your classes, and save millions of lives (clearing the quests), or you fail and die and the shadow takes over and seeps into the real world.

when you think of it like that, yeah, I can see it going that way.
Maybe I skimmed read too much lol.
what I'm getting is that its like a game, so if they fail the quest, the shadow of the past will take over through the portal.
Koreans really love their games huh.

this is still training for their school exam stuff but the shadow world is still a real alternate plane of existence that tends to simulate real historical events.

also the shadow world events that occur are something like potential shadow world expansions that need to be stopped so the shadow world doesnt grow and gain more power

I think this one is no longer a training. It has been said in previous chapter somewhere that it's the real deal. Though the biggest one is yet to happen.

the shadow world simulates actual historical events, so yes the stuff they are currently dealing with did really happen IN THE PAST, but the MC are in a shadow world recreation for their exam training stuff so it is not the real world but rather an true recreation of a true historical event.

I agree. The previous training or exam or whatever it was, broadcasted to the viewers and teachers. But this time, it's not the same.
