I honestly just love how he’s the underdog and how “non-protagonist” he is. It truly gives so much richness to a unique story and depth to the character. But the ending? That new author that took over in the ending volume absolutely ruined the previous author’s amazing creation. How does that new author even live with himself. If you’re gonna allow that ending for the main character then at least make it more meaningful. (SPOILER) he dies because of bombs. LIKE THE STORY STARTED OFF WITH MARTIAL ARTS AND HOW HE LIVED SO MUCH OF HIS LIFE OVERCOMING HARD MATCHES AND GROWING. HIS WHOLE LIFE WAS INFLUENCED BY MARTIAL ARTS AND YOU ALLOW SOME MAN MADE TECHNOLOGY FROM SOME NAMELESS OUT OF NOWHERE CHARACTERS TO BE THE ONES THAT BRINGS HIM DOWN. OF ALL THINGS??? Despicable, disappointing and aggravating. ALSO I get how there’s a thing where “he’s too evil and has done too many bad things that despite his wants to be a better person and to live the life he should have gotten (as you see towards the end) he still must die to “pay” for his crimes and as retribution because he doesn’t deserve goodness/it’s part of the idea that even till the end he doesn’t reach light”, I DONT GIVE A FUCK. He’s an mc that made me want to root for him even though he’s a terrible person and to see him wasted away like this (ok that metaphorical death scene and was mediocre at best) is very very very wrong. (SPOILER ENDS) I’ve read this manga years ago and it popped up again today so I’m writing this now because the manga has left such an impact on me and the ending left even more of an impact (in a bad way). If you like villainous protagonists then please please please give it a try. It’s pretty good.

Also try it if you are interested in mangas that go so much deeper than surface level content and give you so much more than it may seem to give
