Yeah mentioning the specific name of any God of any religion in that line was unnecessary.. not to mention Muslims get upset and triggered by having mentioned their Lord's name or their religion attached in anything that's forbidden according to the religion (that's only natural)..
so Mangaka really should have been more careful with their lexicon.. it's disappointing to be disrespectful to the sentiment of people or any religious beliefs
and when they don't actually care for the triggered elements (religion, cheating, rape, pedophilia, necrophilia, bestiality) they should at least attach a warning or reader's discretion
Again, why ? I’m not Muslim, so why should I care ? Devout Muslims shouldn’t even read manga anyways, if they respect the precepts of their religion. Especially mangas involving gay relationships. And do you react in the same way when there are hardcore yaoi mangas with catholic priests ? Why the double standard ?
Btw, I didn’t even like this anthology, so it’s not even about defending these stories (though the last one definitely was the least cringe-worthy). It’s about the principle : I am resolutely secular and have no respect for any particular religion (no more than for any ideology), and I especially despise anti-blasphemous attitudes. We’ve long since passed these ridiculous attitudes, and I have no care for self-righteous individuals crusading to defend a God that, if he were to exist, would not need mere mortals to defend him, or a religion to which said-individuals do not even ascribe.
And for anyone to decide, so you don't get to choose either. Also while i do think that mentioning Allah in such a context might be looked at like disrespectful, the thing is, they only mentioned it and didn't say it while having sex or something and it was just them sitting down and having a conversation so, I don't really get the point of any of you are going for. Is like them talking about God in a normal conversation. They aren't disrespecting the religion or anything. Also they probably don't know the fact that Muslim people do not like it when people mention Allah in such context, and probably thought it was just like anyone would mention god. So there is no fucking need to attack the author.
Long ass chat. See, if the story aladdin was revolving around a christian god, "God", then they would say God. It's inevitable because Aladdin itself was based on Allah I think (correct me if I'm wrong). It was bound to bring up the thing with the shackles and how he swore to Allah to use his power that way. I expected it from the start just by seeing Aladdin Idk about you. Even if they didn't say Allah, the whole story does revolve around a religion so it's bound to mention whatever god. Allah and God or Greek Mythology or Buddha or whatnot are equal in this respect. Also, to me it seemed like the 2000 yr old genie had originally ended up in shackled to the lamp because he himself put the spell on himself as an offer to Allah (the way he said spell to Allah or smthn sounded like that). To me that part just made me think of how the manga might be purposefully pointing out the unnecessary parts that people regard while being very religious which in reality shackles them, like for example how muslims are supposed to not mix with the gays. Even religion rules are likely to continuously evolve because people generally are beings that should put forethought into their actions which they often don't. Ex. Muslim culture being extra conservative. While some like it, many might find it suffocating for themselves. The entire book is a smack at dark sides of humanity regardless of the systems or religions or tales it is based on.

Don't fricking involve Allah's name in a manga like this, show some respect
