To all those sayin how John is the worst, you're right, he's not his best self, RIGHT NOW. If ya'll read the webtoon we know how despotic he can be, how disgusting his behavior can morph to. So ya'll better think this through---the author is doing a good job portraying John as a character. He's unreasonable, tyrannical amd has a VERY bad temper. But he AINT bad. The author is trying to portray just how messed up their world is. We can tell its messed up and wrong. As an MC John is flawed. John is a protagonist thats meant to be an outlier of the system, someone who has immense power but who can't be a hero, who can't be truly righteous, BUT is in conflict with the part of himself that cant be one, and YEARNS to at least be decent. He tries but he fails, and he makes a lot of mistakes and decisions that arent exactly the best one. He's in that phase now. In the perspective of people who cant fit in, who are oppressed, the author is trying to put the problem in the spotlight. What makes the system messed up? You know its wrong, but from Arlo's point of view, hierarchy is needed to keep order in a world where violence is the bigger fist. There can never be equality with an unerasable dividing line like innate powers. But then its wrong too since the majority of people are oppressed unreasonably since heirarchy perpetuates the cycle and breeds a constricted world with individuals who think they can do anything. I think this arc just serves to make people think of whats the best solution for everyone in society. Ya'll its not the webtoon going downhill by putting the story in a stupid direction and its just temporary. Its a bit hard on the eyes with John's current behavior, but I think he can grow a lot after going through this arc as a character. End of ted talk peace out---
