i see where you're coming from. i personally am not a fan of jojo, but the mangaka of jojo is a big shot in japan. he's known for his art and aesthetics. although americans overrate the anime (too much it becomes cringy), he is considered a living legend to the japanese. i went to his art gallery in tokyo and i see why people are fans of not only his anime but artistry (sorry, i sound like such a fan when i haven't watched or read his works lol). ultimately, it's just a matter of perspective tbh.

basically my point is people who aren't even fans of anime in japan know him. he's that famous.
