I despise the guy in the story. This is how I would have (wanted to) respond:

I say: If you really regret it, making fun of me, and my hardwork, and throwing it away in the presence of your friends, then tell me what you told me earlier to them. Tell them everything. That you were conceited, and that you regretted hurting me, but you did anyway. If you can't do that, then that means you're probably going to be making fun of me as your "stupid childhood friend" for as long as we're in the same place. Or what? You gonna ignore me? Fine by me. I'm sick of all this pretension. I'm done being your "gullible childhood friend". You think you can be scum and make fun of girls? Hurt their feelings and enjoy that playboy aura? Then excuse you while you suffocate in that poison you've created. It's so toxic I don't even want to go near you. It makes me feel like a bad person, you know? Wanting to hurt you the way you wanted to hurt me, or maybe even more. I'm no longer your goody-two-shoes person. From now on, we're mere childhood friends who associate with each other when needed.
